On September 13, 2018 Hurricane Florence came crashing down here in Stella North Carolina, not only significantly damaging my home, it also took the dock and all the beautiful life around it. The wonder of my backyard, and photography came crashing down literally. Nature seemingly died that day. As a result, after a long time of no photography at all, I had to start getting creative.
How could I still find magic on this land? And so entered the concept of insect photography. I looked in the smallest edges of my deck and the weeds that remained. I had to study new ideas to learn how to photograph the tiniest of insects. Slowly the life on the land has restored, although there is still no dock, progress is being made.
